Summer isn’t over yet

With summer winding down, now is the perfect time to book your final summer getaway. Greyhound is offering low fares for end of summer travel to destinations such as Austin, Texas, with prices on routes from Houston starting as low as $13 and $11 from Dallas. For beach-goers, visit Long Beach, Calif. with prices starting at $8 from Bakersfield, Calif. and those wanting a more historical trip can visit Boston with prices starting as low as $11 from New Haven, Conn.

From natural spring pools to barbecue, Austin is your ideal getaway. Put on your swimsuit and enjoy the sun as you visit Barton Springs Pool. Located in Zilker Park, this three-acre natural springs pool is a relaxing place to swim with family and friends or enjoy Zilker Park’s nature. Learn and discover Texas history at The Bullock Texas State History Museum. See Texas artifacts and exhibits or watch an IMAX® film, or enjoy the Texas-inspired menu at The Story of Texas Café. Before your trip ends, grab some Texas barbecue at Iron Works BBQ. Whether you’re eating the pork ribs or chopped beef sandwich, make sure to smother your meal in their famous BBQ sauce.

Start off your Boston trip by hopping on a ferry to visit Boston Harbor Islands. See Fort Warren, which served as a prison during the Civil War, or visit Boston Light, the first lighthouse established in America, or simply relax on the beach. If you’re a sports enthusiast, be sure to tour Fenway Park and see a Boston Red Sox game. Don’t forget to grab a lobster roll at James Hook + Co. Their lobster rolls were awarded Best of Boston in 2013 by Boston Magazine, so you know this lobster roll is going to be delicious.

Long Beach

Start off your morning in Long Beach by dining at Chuck’s Coffee Shop. This coffee shop serves scrumptious banana nut pancakes and is across the street from the beach in Belmont Shore. After you have fueled up on breakfast, layout in the sun, build a sandcastle or swim in the ocean as you visit the beaches of Long Beach. If you want to ride a surrey or bike along the beach, visit Wheel Fun Rentals where they offer rentals for beach-goers. See ocean life up close as you visit the Aquarium of the Pacific. This aquarium is Southern California’s largest aquarium, with over 11,000 animals to see and over 50 exhibits to discover.
