Greyhound takes the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge!
If you’ve been on social media, watched the news, or spoke with someone around the water cooler in the last few weeks, you’ve probably heard about the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The challenge, started by the ALS Association, is helping people across the country cool down this summer by pouring buckets of ice water on themselves to raise money and awareness to strike out ALS.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. While there is no cure for ALS yet, this challenge encourages people to donate to the ALS research foundation of their choice and bring awareness to the disease.
When someone is challenged, they are asked to either donate $100 to an ALS research foundation, or film themselves dumping a bucket of ice water on their head, ask three people to do the same and make a donation of any amount. Since our friends at Pay Near Me doused themselves in ice water for a great cause, we were excited to accept their challenge!
We officially extended our challenge to our friends at BSSP, Jefferson Lines, Peter Pan Bus Lines, NCR and the World Famous Harlem Globetrotters!
