The Resolutions Continue.

Be More Adventurous.

As we enter the second month of the new year, we’re starting to get a sense of how much willpower we actually have as we either stick to our New Year’s Resolutions or find ourselves already breaking them. If you’re like most people, you have made one or more of the popular resolutions to lose weight, improve your credit, learn something new or travel more. While we can’t help you with all of your resolutions, we can definitely point you in the right direction with regards to traveling more. Let’s face it, we’ve been in the business for quite some time (100 years this year to be exact!), so we know a thing or two about traveling. In honor of the New Year, we’ve developed a list of top travel resolutions that will get you motivated and excited to start your adventures today!

Overcome a fear: One of the most common fears people have is a fear of heights, and a great way to conquer this fear is to face it head on. Planning a trip to the Rocky Mountains is a great place to start. At 14,440 feet, activities like hiking, skiing and snowboarding will definitely help diminish your fear.

Take at least one de-stressing break: with the stresses of work, school and family obligations, taking a break and getting away from it all is a “must” in 2014. Plan a relaxing trip to one of the beautiful beaches in California, Florida or the Gulf Coast to unwind. Take a scenic gondola ride in Long Beach, California or go snorkeling in Panama City Beach, Florida and leave your worries behind. If you’re closer to the gulf coast, plan a deep sea fishing adventure in Orange Beach, Alabama or go horseback riding on the Beach in South Padre Island.

Be more adventurous: every now and then it’s fun to let out your inner adventure junkie and do something a bit out of your comfort zone. Montana is a great state to visit if you’re looking to add more adventure to your routine. Backpacking through Glacier National Park, Ice Climbing at Hyalite Canyon or fly-fishing at the Spring Creeks of Paradise Valley is sure to satisfy the adventure seeker in you.

Volunteer more: a great resolution to have this year is to help those less fortunate. There are a number of organizations and individuals across the country who could use a helping hand. According to www.VolunteerMatch.org, some of the most popular cities to volunteer in are Philadelphia, Cleveland and Phoenix.

Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can “book” today: If all of this talk about traveling has you excited and ready to embark on a journey, why wait?
