Did Someone Say Spring Training?
Ah, the smell of freshly cut grass woven with the sound of the ball off the sweet spot of ash lumber. The soft leather in the players’ mitts pop as arms are loosened and the cobwebs of winter are brushed away.
In case you don’t know, baseball season is upon us and play in the Florida Grapefruit League and the Cactus League in Arizona has begun.
Up and down the east and west coasts of the Florida peninsula, teams are in action, from Dunedin to Fort Myers, from Kissimmee to Port St. Lucie. Storied franchises such as the New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers have begun to train in earnest for the 162-game grind.
Out west, the Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers and others are playing spring training games in the Phoenix area including Scottsdale, Surprise, Mesa, Tempe and Glendale.
Through the end of March, fans can catch their favorite team and players, from green prospects to salty veterans. Fans of America’s pastime can catch half of Major League Baseball’s teams within hours of each other.
So, what are you waiting for? Step up to bat and go on a spring training adventure on Greyhound. Just like the game itself, you always make it home again.
