A Message from Our CEO: Celebrating 100 Years
To work for Greyhound during this monumental moment, I can’t help but reflect on how Greyhound founder Carl Eric Wickman would feel to know that his company reached the Centennial milestone.
The average lifespan of a company listed on the S&P 500 is 15 years. How do you make it to 100? There are a variety of factors that contribute to this success, among those are hardworking employees, doing what’s right when no one’s watching and dedication to delivering an exceptional customer experience. The foundation of it all: We believe in each other.
We’ve learned from our mistakes and celebrated our successes. Embracing change, having the courage to meet challenges and re-invention has been core to our longevity.
From the introduction of our industry-leading Greyhound Express service to our congestion-relieving, eco-friendly BoltBus and YO! Bus services, we continue to adapt to the changing needs of today’s traveler.
Our vision fuels our purpose. Each day we set out to provide solutions for an increasingly congested world by keeping people moving and communities prospering.
Our values, which in turn serve as our backbone include:
- Commitment to our customers
- Dedication to safety
- Supportive of each other
- Accountability for performance
- Setting the highest standards
To our customers: We are grateful for each and every one of you. Without you, there would be no Greyhound. Every story that we hear about connecting family members or sending a student back to college, reminds us about what’s really important: YOU! Thank you for giving us your trust and your business.
To our employees: Thank you for believing in this company. The hours that you put in to make sure this operation is running 24/7 does not go overlooked. From maintaining the buses to assisting customers, we appreciate all that you do.
Greyhound today has more relevance to consumers than ever before. We remain the largest, safest, most eco-friendly North American intercity bus operator serving more than 3,800 cities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Our goals from the last 100 years will be the same for the next 100 years, as we continue our quest to be safe, reliable and courteous. I’m very proud of our past and extremely excited about the next few years. Our future has never been brighter!
Go Greyhound, and leave the driving to us!
